Young Maker Invitation

The Southwest Maker Fest welcomes young makers and invites them to submit a project.

As a competitive showcase for creative projects, young makers demonstrate the vision and mission of the Fest.

Young maker projects selected for the Fest display creativity, interaction, and collaboration through engaging project design. The best of show award in the following categories receive invitations to present their projects at the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF). Young Makers projects qualify for three categories: Elementary (grades 5 and 6), Junior (grades 7 and 8), and Senior (grades 9 through 12).

All projects, whether science or engineering in design, should engage the audience through creative display, interaction, and instruction. Please follow regulations for safety and design as detailed in the AzSEF guidelines accessed through this link. We see the young maker awards as an avenue to the AzSEF for talented young people who create beyond the limits of traditional science and engineering projects.
