Southwest Maker Fest 2018 will be the fifth year of a collaborative one-day festival and community of makers seeking to achieve the vision of a connected community, empowered by creativity. The Southwest Maker Fest (SWMF) mission is to celebrate, engage, and inspire the maker in each of us.

Southwest Maker Fest is a place of ideas and action that celebrates the uniquely human power of creativity and invention, and the entrepreneurial spirit.  Visit SWMF to experience, learn, play and shop. From new art forms to extraordinary inventions, from programs that explore new techniques to do-it-yourself on-site opportunities, from art to technology to food, SWMF will stimulate curiosity and inspire the maker inside you! There is tremendous energy and excitement about building an inclusive and highly creative event in the Valley of the Sun that will grow to have a major regional presence. Last year’s event welcomed 5,500 visitors, up about 10% from Year Two, following similar growth in year two. We are building on local strength as a source of new ideas & entrepreneurial spirit!

We hope you will consider becoming a partner and supporter of Southwest Maker Fest, which has been driven during its first three years by the efforts of experienced event administrators, makers, event planners and partners, from such major institutions at ASU (Tempe and Polytechnic campuses), Mesa Arts Center, Maricopa Community Colleges and Arizona Science Center, to the critical partners in grassroots organizations such as HeatSync Labs and The Collaboratory, among many others. Important support grew for last year’s festival, including sponsorships from Intel, Microchip, i.d.e.a. Museum and many other great regional organizations.

Marketing -- Southwest Maker Fest will be promoted through various means including collateral materials such as postcards, posters and flyers, social media, media coverage and outreach events.

Southwest Maker Fest is an all-volunteer operation, operating under the auspices of the Downtown Mesa Association and its 501(c) 3 non-profit arm, Ultimate Imaginations Inc. (UII). All sponsorships will be through UII, a tax-exempt organization, and support will be tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.

Your organization has an amazing opportunity to sponsor this growing event and support an engaged creative community.  Put your business in the spotlight and link it with the maker movement, innovation and the value of stimulating curiosity & ideas for the AZ citizenry.
